Power Of Women 2025

On March 7, 2025, The Nellie McClung Junior High program will once again host our annual Power of Women conference at École Wîhkwêntôwin school. We welcome all grade 6 students who identify as girls to attend this unique and inspiring event.

This event is planned and facilitated entirely by our Nellie McClung students and teachers. The conference is designed to empower young women, by allowing them to listen to and interact with women from a variety of fields as well as participate in some student-led activities throughout the day. We want to ensure girls are aware of all the possibilities that exist for them.

The POW event was started back in 2018 by Mrs. Severson and it has become a highlight event for our students to showcase their creativity and leadership skills.

The 2024 event had over 200 students participating over the two days and the feedback was amazing.
